HELL YEAH MY SHIP HAS GUNS AGAIN.
& other ramblings about BSG 413
How many things did I absolutely love in this episode? Pretty much EVERYTHING? Especially...
- Tigh's reaction to Laura casually coming out in her robe in Bill's cabin and them acting all domestic together. Hehe.
- The return of Starbuck the badass, of course, not that I ever really thought she'd gone anywhere for good. I swear, some people have no faith in Ron Moore to do anything right. Sure, when it comes to him or J.K. Rowling I'm an idolizing sucker who thinks they can do almost no wrong, but that's beside the point...LOL.
- Seeing one of those creeps from Pegasus again. I love this show's consistency and the way they have so many minor characters end up reappearing.
- When Baltar and Roslin have scenes together it's always amazing. It's really interesting how they're sort of finding enough common ground to respect each other again.
- PILOTS SHOOTING TOGETHER AGAIN. ALL WE CAN COUNT ON NOW IS YOU AND ME. How do I love how Kara's been having kind of an existential meltdown and struggling with having no idea who/what she is but right then she knows exactly what side she's on, where she belongs, what she belongs doing, and who she'll always trust and protect so in a weird way she's happier than we've seen her in a long time. So while Lee is freaking out a little she's the one who's pretty cool-headed and has to lay one on him to try to make him shut up and calm down, lol.
- Everything Adama or Tigh did or said in this entire episode. Yeah, I have no words for the awesomeness beyond that.
- The end. THE END. Greatest Adama/Roslin moment in BSG history? I think possibly so. It was played so beautifully I just died a little. And I loved how they showed the reactions of everyone who was there.
- I'm glad there was a cliffhanger and this is still all unresolved, because I was worried and didn't really see how this problem could end up resolved in one episode. The people on Zarek's side have a point and understandable objections and this isn't something that should just be settled by which side has the most people held at gunpoint at any given time. I honestly can't see how it's going to be worked out, except by people simply seeing how much they have to lose if anyone tries to pull this kind of shit and overthrow the people in control again, but we'll see.

Date: 2009-01-31 12:32 pm (UTC)The character continuity and the little beats are something that RDM does brilliantly. Those creepy guys from Pegasus, Conner, Laird (no!), someone even said that Capt. Kelly showed up at some point. I'm glad the mutineers weren't faceless redshirts. These are people we've seen throuhout the series. In cases like Racetrack, Skulls and Seelix, it hurt b/c we'd seen those folks be the good guys before.
Everyone was just awesome in this ep. I think my very favorite thing was although the plot was so awesome and actiony, it was also COMPLETELY CHARACTER DRIVEN!! HOW INCREDIBLE IS THAT??
I cannot say enough about pilots, and I think you put it beautifully that in the midst of chaos, Kara knows exactly who she is.
And the AR kiss at the end was just so beautiful. And everyone's reactions were spot on.
How are we gonna survive until next Friday??

Word on Baltar and Roslin's weird awkward begrudgingly respectful encounters.
