- Roslin returning to Galactica and not knowing what to tell all those people was terrible. And the way she was clinging to Lee so he could help get her out of that crowd...Gaaah. :'(
- The Agathon family all playing together is so freaking cute I can't handle it.
- Starbuck and Leoben just hanging out together exploring Earth is so weird and yet...enjoyable. Those two. I don't know what it is, I definitely don't ship them, but they do something for me. I got absolutely shocked chills that moment that she took the dog tags from the body and he actually started fearfully backing away from her and looked at her like "What are you?", because in all the scenes we've ever seen with Leoben before he's always stayed completely cool with this self-assurance that he sees how everything is. And then he just starts to look like somebody just shot all of his puppies at the same time when he has to tell her he doesn't understand any of it. Now that I go back and watch all the scenes before this again, you can tell that he's trying to stop Kara from going on because he has a bad feeling about this and he's afraid to find out he's been wrong. THIS IS FUCKING WITH MY SHIT GUYS. SHE JUST TURNED LEOBEN INTO AN ATHEIST. HE DOESN'T KNOW.
- So, I feel really bad. All the time Dee was thinking about putting a gun to her head, all I could think about was my ship and how "WTF this doesn't make sense why is this happening they got divorced whaaaaaat." And as soon as it happened I felt relieved because now it makes perfect sense story-telling-wise...and also really fucking sad. I mean, it was extremely tragic and done very well, obviously, since I'm not especially attached to Dee as a character but this was really saddening.
I don't understand how a lot of people are confused about how she could kill herself after she apparently just had such a good time and are acting like there might be a deeper explanation to it. Dee knew already that she was going to do it and that's why she was acting so happy and calm, as opposed to right after the discovery of what Earth was like when she appeared to be totally losing it.
- Ellen is the FC. Okay. Cool. Whatever. I didn't really think it was going to live up to this mindblowing twist that the revelation of the Final Cylon has been built up to be, so whatever. I'm just glad it's not Zak Adama as certain rumors had me worried about, because that kind of shit would make me need therapy.
- Kara. Fuck. I don't even know what to say about poor Kara and holy crap that shot of her holding the extra pair of dog tags at the end. I was always sure that she's something special though not a Cylon. Who knows what. If it was simple to explain that would be kind of disappointing. Parts of the show have symbolically linked her to the goddess Aurora. The hybrid's prophecy mentions an angel. I don't know. Start thinking outside of the box.
- NEW BEAR MCCREARY MUSIC I WANT YOU. I really loved that sort of unsettling piano version of the Final Four theme playing when Anders found the guitar neck.
- In general this episode was just incredibly haunting with how it showed how this society is getting torn apart. With the graffiti saying "Frak Earth" and that part when Adama walks right past an officer beating somebody up. It was even more disturbing to watch than anything we ever saw in the occupation episodes.

Date: 2009-01-17 07:50 pm (UTC)I don't think Ellen is the FC. I just don't, but if she is, what a letdown. LOL
When you get the new music, please post it, I play your Epiphanies disks all the frakkin' time!
It was disturbing how everything was falling apart on Galactica. I like that Kara managed to realize something was wrong with Lee before going on about her own discoveries. It was nice to see her not being so self-absorbed. LOL
Cheers!

Indeed, it was a very mature moment for her. LOL.

Date: 2009-01-20 11:19 pm (UTC)But the thing is, I don't even care as much about whether or not Lee/Kara are together as long as the show stays true to how their relationship has been a fundamental part of the overall story from the beginning. When they weren't even friends for a long time and I had no idea where that was going, that was just brutal. But the way things are now gives me lots of encouragement that "Starbuck and Apollo" in some form isn't going anywhere, so I don't think I'll have much problems worrying about it for the rest of the show. A lot of my anxiety before has been caused by a feeling that the writers don't actually know what they're doing or care much about what they're doing with specific characters/relationships, but it's been a while since I've been able to watch BSG with as much confidence that RDM has a plan for everything as I have right now.
