flowrs4opheliaOne of the only very good authors I've managed to find on fanfiction.net is bluebottlebutterfly. Her writing is simple and dialogue-driven rather than elaborately descriptive, but this is fine because she writes very good dialogue.
"Deflating" is my favorite one of hers I've read. It tells, basically, the story of how James managed to "deflate his head," as Lupin put it in OotP, in his seventh year and finally get Lily to love him. The romance in this story is very cute and the frustration and tension between the two is written very well. But to tell the truth, my favorite thing about this story is the scenes of "locker room talk" as you could call it, when James talks about his Lily problems with the guys at the dinner table. These scenes make me just giggle and giggle and giggle out loud every time I read them. She writes all of the Marauders' personalities perfectly; Sirius is hilarious and makes dirty jokes (in fact I think more than anything my reason for liking this author is the way she writes Sirius), Remus gives reasonable but unexperienced advice, and Peter is always eating.

Pheromones - A very short one-shot involving moody pregnant Hermione with her cluelessly insensitive husband (do I need to tell you who it is?) So cute and so exactly the way this couple would act together in this situation.
Finding Sand In The Sahara - Another story of the James-harrassing-Lily days. There is only one chapter of this but I like it so far. I especially like how James is written in this one. He seems like such a jerk but likeable at the same time.
