Although I am such an adamant and enthusiastic Remus/Tonks shipper, Sirius/Remus has to be one of my favorite ships to read, although I don't read fics about them that much. It seems all of the really good ones I find kind of depress me. Any story written about the Marauders is bound to be a little tragic, but thinking of Remus and Sirius as a couple makes the story of their relationship even more sad no matter how you think about it.
On top of that, many people interpret them as characters who would never have been able to be completely devoted to each other, and write them as a couple who never quite connected the way they should have even though they were clearly in love. Sometimes one of them feels like he loves the other more and does not completely have him even though they are in a relationship.
underlucius writes this kind of longing for something that is never completely given in this ficlet in which Sirius ponders mysterious parts of Remus he is never quite able to reach for and find because Remus keeps himself at a certain distance even when they are together.
