Fanfic Rec: "Our Way" (Brokeback Mountain)

flowrs4opheliaI am proud to rec this one which was written by my sister, who NEVER writes fanfic. This is actually really weird for me - I feel like I'm a dentist giving one of my family members a filling. But be assured I'm not just feeling obligated to pimp my sister's work; Layla and I are twins and we're really close, meaning I have no problem telling her something she wrote is crap if I think it's bad. I wouldn't be recommending this if I didn't honestly like it.
This drabble is done in a really choppy, cut-off, understated style that seems perfect for the kind of relationship it's about and is even kind of reminiscent of Annie Proulx's writing. The most moving sentences affect you in a really simple, direct way, with no flowery descriptive nonsense taking up space.
