I am downloading Misfits right now even though I've been trying to hold off on starting any new shows soon because I can't get away from it on Tumblr and it looks/sounds so awesome and the temptationnn. Plus the twin very evilly started watching it without me even after we expressly had an agreement that we would watch this together and for once enjoy a show for the first time squeeing over it in unison and all, since we always end up nagging each other into watching the new things we get into anyway so it only makes sense. (DAMN YOU LAYLA. FOR SHAME.)

I also keep thinking fleetingly about finally starting Lost because listening to Michael Giacchino's music for it has me like What is WITH these track titles? And this intense creepy-sounding stuff? What IS this show? LOL. But this seems like a terrible idea because based on everything I've heard I will probably be totally bonkers for it and not be able to stop watching it, and...yeah, job hunting. That's what I'm supposed to be doing. Responsible things...

Anyway, mostly just posting for this meme....


I know very little about some of the people on my friends list. Some people I know relatively well. But here's a thought: why not take this opportunity to tell me a little something about yourself. Any old thing at all. Just so the next time I see your name I can say: "Ah, there's so and so...she likes office supplies." I'd love it if every single person who friended me would do this. like everyone else has said, Misfits is amazing. and totes not time-consuming since it has only like 7 episodes for each series.

as for Lost, I got suckered into watching the entire series too, late last year (i never watched it when it was airing). in my opinion it was vast waste of my time. but to each their own. the thing is... the first couple of seasons are pretty interesting and seem like a show that you can enjoy. but the series doesn't end on the same note that it start, so just because you like the start of it, doesn't mean you will like the entire series.

Just goig to throw my unpopular opinion out there: Misfits is a fun, but poorly written show. It's entertaining but appears to have no limitations or purpose, and the characters, whilst lolsy and often well-acted, are fairly 2 dimensional.

I recently caught up because so many friends had told me 'omgomgomomgmg watch Misfits you will love it, so much better than everything else etc'... well I was extremely surprised at the chasm between fan adulation and quality with that show.

As for LOST... I'd practically beg you not to waste your time. I loved that show like my fucking first-born, but the final season completely killed it for me. I felt cheated, and honestly upset I'd gone through 5 years worth of TV that turned out to mean pretty much nothing, both in terms of the plot and the characters. I mean I actually still get upset and angry thinking about it :((

HEY MEME. This is a good meme. For we are relatively new friends, and also I somehow stopped posting much in the past couple weeks.

A THING ABOUT ME IS I recently wanted to go into literary translation as, like, a career, but now I don't because I'm not good enough for how hard it is, so nowadays I just have really strong opinions about translation.

I do Spanish. I want to learn Chinese and Portuguese and Catalan and Galician - only the last three are nearly attainable, since they're close to Spanish. Sadly, it's hard for me to make time to learn new languages in school.

Sooooo not cheating omg :DDD Those are my favorite too. You should live on/by the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State. This is my professional recommendation as someone from the Pacific Northwest ;) For instance, my icon is a picture I took at the Puget Sound. You may not be able to tell, but those are mountains between the land and the clouds in the distance :))

Haha, and here I am in boring flat Illinois for college! my dad was born in IL, actually, and moved to the Northwest because he loved it so much more than "the armpit of the US", as he calls the Chicago area. You got your ocean here, your snow up in the mountains, and everywhere else it's very very mild weather :)

If there's important things you need to be doing, I'd recommend not to start Lost. It's highly addictive, and even though the writers mess some stuff up in the 5th season, it's an awesome series that'll make you wanna watch it through in, like, a weekend (if it were physically possible). Trust me.

as for the meme.... um... let's see... ok, this is the weirdest thing that I can think of off the top of my head. I can touch my own elbow with my tongue. No really. Because I've read that people are physically incapable of this, which either means I'm an alien or something, or that what I read was just crap. Either possibility is viable. :PPP
